Introduction
The Brooking range of steel windows were designed and are regularly specified for the Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust. A steel framing system taking its name from the "Brooking Collection" of historic windows providing a traditional appearance, these windows are specifically for use in sensitive fenestration projects where a traditional
appearance is required with the added advantage of double glazing. Projects may be new build or refurbishment where the original fenestration is to be maintained. Heritage Brooking steel windows may be fixed direct to brickwork, concrete, stone or into subframes and can be manufactured to fit existing apertures.
Features include:
Shaped and curved on plan, mastic fronted to replicate front putty, accommodates single and insulating glass, GGF approved - proprietary glazing system units to 14mm
thickness, recognised and specified by both English Heritage and The National Trust.
The heritage Brooking range consists of:
Fixed light, top hung, bottom hung, side hung, horizontal and vertical pivots, single and double doors.
Specification
The windows are manufactured generally in accordance with BS 6510:1984 Specification for F series steel windows. All frames and ancillary profiles are positively rust-
proof by hot dip galvanising to EN ISO BS:1461 and available with a factory applied polyester colour coating to EN ISO BS:6497.
Description
Composition, manufacture Frames are manufactured with corner joints mitred, welded and dressed square and flat. Small panes can be formed with tee glazing bars whose
ends are tenon-riveted and/or welded to the frame and whose cross joints are interlocked and welded with rigid joints. Profiles are hot rolled from mild steel and cold
straightened. Composite windows can be assembled by connecting windows horizontally and/or vertically with mullions and/or transoms of hot rolled slim steel profiles,
box sections, tubes, or box mullions manufactured from sheet steel. Pressed metal cills are available in a choice of profile.
Glazing
Windows may be single or double glazed to a maximum thickness of 14 mm using the proprietary 'ClemKlip' system. Glazing is on site, from inside or outside, with bed
ding and capping sealants in accordance with manufacturer's preferred glazing system.

ventilators can also be fitted.
Appearance
The heritage Brooking range provides slender sight lines of steel framing, which maximises solar gain thereby saving energy through reduced use of artificial lighting. Poly
ester powder coating is available to any BS or RAL reference colours. Its unique double glazed 'ClemKlip' glazing system with mastic facing closely resembles traditional putty fronting. Facing mastics are available in standard colours. |
